During the post-fight press conference, Alex revealed a lot of things about future-related plans, the next fight, the move to the heavyweight division, and many more.
Reporter- First-round finish, You have nothing but a big moment of your career so far, and where does this win rank among the biggest fights you won ever?
Alex Pereira- My best moment is my next moment but this moment is also special for me and I am going to enjoy this moment a little more.
Reporter- You got the injury with you as a broken toe. How did these happen and affect your preparation and performance tonight?
Alex Pereira– That injury happened a couple of weeks before I had to pull this fight but I have pushed through. When I was slowing down the training then this injury happened.
Reporter- Right before the knockout, you took the groin strike. Then you took a second to reset then you put in a knockout punch. So what was going on in your mind at that moment? Did you know that you are potentially going to land the K.O.?
Alex Pereira- Jamahal is a southpaw player. So it is a little hard for me to make the distance. Though the groin shot didn’t hurt me more so I chose to keep pushing the fight.
Reporter- You chose the heavyweight division in the future. So what is the reason behind the choice? Is it money, legacy, or what?
Alex Pereira- Well, definitely about everything, not only money but legacy also. Of course, money motivates. I also talked about the fighting in Brazil. But it is not up to me but on UFC.
Reporter- After beating Jamahal you got the black belt. So you are going for a black belt tattoo?
Alex Pereira- maybe.
Reporter- Defending your belt then Ankalaev is next in line, then How you do with the level. He is a grappling specialist.
Alex Pereira- I think this is too early to say about my opponent.
